I honestly have to sympethise with this. Sometimes, out race can be super arrogant about us being the top of the food chain just because of our supposed intelligence. It may sound like an oxymoron, but we are smart, but in some regards, we do much worse than most animal species.

The human race is young - we believe sentience is what puts us above the animals. It does separate us, yes, but it does not automatically make us the better species. We tend to forget what it means to be alive. It's fascinating; I find it irritating, however, because most of the time our fascination with gender and sex and the roles within are gross.

Nah. Your points are excellent! To think, we think we are important to the overall progression of the Earth, and yet we only came into existance about 2.1 billion years ago, whereas other animals existed long before us.
